How is the Baby Bonus paid?

The baby bonus will be cut from $5400 to $5000 from September 2012, and frozen at that level for a further three years, until then the Baby Bonus is paid per eligible child in 13 fortnightly instalments. From 1 July 2011, customers eligible to receive Baby Bonus will get a higher first instalment of $879.77 and 12 fortnightly instalments of approximately $379.77. The higher first instalment of Baby Bonus will assist with the upfront costs of having a new child.

Wink When to announce??
Hi, not pregnant but hoping....... What is the standard protocol on when to announce that I am pregnant. Is it 12 weeks? Not sure I will be able to last that long. It will be pretty obvious if I don't order my usual Vodka and Cranberry on a friday night drinks!!

This is completely up to you - there are not right or wrong answers.! There are not many people I know that make it to 12 weeks without telling people, my son was concieved through IVF so pretty much everyone knew from the moment we knew.

Just see how you feel when it happens, you might like to share with a few close family members and friends, and leave boss's and work colleagues until 12 weeks.

Thanks. Yes I think there will be no way in this wide world that I will be lasting more than 12 weeks before I tell someone. Right now I can't help but speculate to some friends that i am pregnant when I am not.

agree there is no right or wrong answers. with both my children I told immediate family and a few very select close friends straight away then waited to after 12 weeks to tell family, friends work etc.

you are right, there is no real rule of thumb, all I know is that everyone will know once I am!!

It is really hard to wait until 12 weeks.

i guess its up to you. If you are confident then go for it lol.
