Default Having trouble....

Hi, I am 33 years and we have decided to start a family. In fact we tried to start a family some 9 months ago but to no avail. Have been off the pill for over a year and starting to fear my age has crept up on me. Is there any tips out there someone can give?? Any good stories to elleviate my fears.

Hi, sorry to hear about the trouble you are having TTC.
I was reading a health mag today and a statistic in the mag caught my eye, it said that the average time it takes for a healthy couple of concieve is 12 months. So don't panic that it has been 9 months and nothing yet - even though I know how frustrating and upsetting it is when AF arrives month after month.
Have you been charting your cycles to determine when ovulation occurs.? There are several ways to do this, OPK kits are great - very easy to use, charting temps, cervical mucas etc. We have a window of about 12-24 hours when pregnancy can occur each month - so knowing when you are ovulating can really increase your chances.

If after 12 months you still have been unsuccessful your GP will be able to run a couple of tests to rule out any infertility issues. For the mean time, just try to relax.

Hoping you have success very soon.!

Goodluck.

It is normal to take up to a year to conceive, frustrating as we spend so much time for so many years trying not to get pregnant then when we do try it is so much harder than we thought. We took a while to get pregnant, but it did happen. We also used the OPK sticks. They were helpful because then we at least we knew we were doing it on the right days.
I hope you conceive soon, but if you are concerned talk to your doctor.
Goodluck

As stupid as it may sound relax.

How many times do we hear of people conceiving naturally after going through the trauma of IVF programs and having a child.

I think its when your not "trying" that it just happens.

Maybe stop "trying" and just enjoy having a lot of sex and happy times with your loved one.

Easy for me to say we are not "trying" yet

I agree, when you least expect it, things happen. So here's to hoping it happens soon!
